Madeira Beach is hosting it’s annual Waterfront Festival and King of the Beach Tournament
April 28-30th. The Official King of the Beach will take home a neat $50,000 in cold hard cash for catching the largest Mackerel. With more than $200,000 in prizes, Old Salt Fishing Foundation, the host of the tournament hopes to draw even more anglers than last year. The festival already has teams registered from all over the Southeast and South Central portions of the country, from Texas to Virginia.
The Waterfront festival is not only guaranteeing huge cash prizes, but also three fun filled days of live music, food, and various events along the beach for locals, traveling anglers, and fans. Old Salt Fishing Foundation hosts the festival to help raise money for youth and family fishing programs and effective advocacy for licensed Florida anglers, while providing financial support for Old Salt Fishing Foundation’s favorite charities.
“The King of the Beach Tournament has offered a competitive angling experience and helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity and programs the past 24 years. The increased prize packages will draw even more competitive anglers from across the southeast U.S. More anglers means more money for our charities and programs. It’s a win all the way around,” said Tom Verdensky, President of the Old Salt Fishing Foundation.
Pre-Registration for the tournament ends Wednesday, April 20 at midnight.
